Dundalk
singer/songwriter has over the last number of years toured with
such acts as Ron Sexsmith, Beth Orton, The Four of Us, Damien
Dempsey, Josh Ritter, Mark Geary, Rodrigo y Gabriela, The Proclaimers,
Juliet Turner, Brian Kennedy, Gemma Hayes and many many more.
Stewart has built up a strong following through all of his live
shows.
Stewart has also released two albums, "Tailor Made and
"Songs from the Gasstation". "Tailor Made"
was recorded in his hometown in 2001 and "Songs from the
Gasstation" was recorded in The Gasstation studio in Toronto
in 2004. This features a host of Canada's finest musicians and
also features guest vocals and piano from one of Stewarts favourite
songwriters Ron Sexsmith.
Both albums have sold in excess of 4,000 copies in Ireland from
touring alone which is quite an achievement from an independent
act.
This year has seen Stewart back touring with acts like the Guggenheim
Grotto, Juliet Turner, Gemma Hayes and Zoe Conway. He has also
been back in the studio recording a new album with producer
Lou Natkin, who has worked with such acts as Brian Wilson(Beach
Boys), Joan Jett and The Monkees. Stewarts nationwide tours
kicks off in October at the Tain Festival in Dundalk followed
by appearances in Monaghan, Grange (Sligo), Wexford, Derry,
Galway and finishing with a final date in the Spirit Store,
Dundalk.
